The photo for this week’s prompt was taken from within Merlin’s Cave at Tintagel. It is a place that holds some very special memories for me and one that never fails to stir the imagination.

There is a long path down to the little cove, and before it was a modern road, the beac would not have been easy to reach. On either side of the bay there are caves. This one, known as Merlin’s Cave lies beneath the headland upon which stands the ruined castle of Tintagel.

It is an odd place of opposites… more of a tunnel, with one end opening onto the calm little cove with its waterfal and silky waves, and the other leading straight into a rocky sea.
