Today is Sunday November 1st


November is diabetes awareness month.
I was diagnosed with type two diabetes in October 2011. I have been extremely fortunate in being able to control it with diet and not need any medication, though the GP at the time (and some since) have tried to put me on statins which I have refused.
Sadly due to the virus, my annual check up was cancelled, and I have not had a blood test for it since last year. After my surgery, I did have a blood test as my sugar levels rocketed and we weren’t taking any chances. Everything was OK.

Since my funny turn in the supermarket a few weeks ago, we’ve invested in a glucometer to check my sugar levels at home. We are lucky in that we have 2 BP machines, a pulsox, and a thermometer so should we need any medical advice over the phone, we can…
