Peacock Poetry

Living so close to the forest is something I never feel complacent about. Whichever challenges I am facing, the mere act of ascending towards the forest’s arms begins to heal me. A few days ago I sat upon a bench and looked out and relearned all over again the power of perspective.

Up Here

Up here the good thoughts can appear

The birds sing, “you can do it!”

There’s wider trust and far less fear

Up here, I always knew it

Decisions made within the shade

are ones the forest showed me

I merge with nature’s serenade

The solitude unloads me

When I to my own self come near

I come from conscious action

What’s meant for me can now appear

There’s peace and satisfaction
